WESTLAKE, Ohio, April 23, 2024–Nordson Corporation (NASDAQ: NDSN) today announced that Daniel Hopgood has been named executive vice president and chief financial officer, effective May 20, 2024. Mr. Hopgood succeeds Joseph Kelley, who assumed the role of Nordson’s executive vice president and Industrial Precision Solutions segment leader as previously announced.

ANALYSIS:
StockJumpers trajectory analysis reveals a weaker than expected release and the stock price drops post release. This has been a very profitable company but last quarter they missed on earnings and though the stock dropped it was not by much. We see a similar circumstance today and will be looking at the guidance for next quarter which consensus has at over $2/share.
We are SHORT for the event.

UPDATE: 2:11PM we remain biased short, but are not enthusiastic on this trade with low investor interest and much of the move may be priced in (the stock is down 6% from last week).
POST RELEASE ACTION: They missed on both EPS and revenue estimates. We will stay in until the AM – but may pare our TP to 5%.
